The 8051Microcontroller Page

Many of the projects I have been involved in have required using a microcontroller as part of the solution. For some of these I have used an 8051 based 8 bit processor, either the Phillips 8xC552 or Siemens 8xC515 series devices, although recently I've been using the Seimens 16 bit 8xC167 instead. If you haven't used an integrated microcontroller before get hold of a starter kit and have ago. I'd also recommend getting hold of a copy of the Seimens "DAvE" CD, which I think, is included in most of their starter kits. Here are a few links that I have found interesting or useful in the past that maybe of use to you.

Keil - "C" compiler, linker and integrated development environment. Code limited version available for download and is identical to full version. A good system which I use exclusively   Franklin - "C" compiler, linker and integrated development environment. Code limited version available for download. Again I've only played with it but it looks OK   Hitex - Supplier of various starter kits, emulators, software etc. Also a good source for technical information and FAQ's on specific microcontroller issues.   Ceibo - Another supplier of starter kits, emulators etc   Philips - Manufacturers home page

Infineon (Was Siemens) microcontrollers - Manufacturers home page CANHUG - CAN Hydraulic Users Group CAN in Automation - Another CAN users group. The C Coders Home Page - General useful "C" and "C++" stuff The Chip Directory - Useful chip information and links

If any of the above links have died, been removed or are just plain wrong please email me and I'll put it right
